*The WOC also have a fund set up whereby the single moms in our congregation are who give so much to their families without recognition to themselves are given something to let them know they are special people also.  At Christmas this fund is also used to assist with Christmas needs for members of the congregation and during the year for other needs that are deemed urgent and necessary.  Our pastor, Becky Baker, is in charge of this fund.  Donations are always welcome

*During the year WOC have been involved in various missions, including, but not limited to collecting coats to donate to CERF. Plant and Seed swap table that sold plants for funds to help send children to summer camp, collection of items for Presbyterian Homes, purchase of backpacks for Butts County's needy children, and other worthwhile missions.

*"Operation Christmas Child"--Our women place items that they think a child or young person might like in shoe boxes plus $6 to be used for literature,The Greatest Journey, which will be given to each child, telling them about Jesus.  You can find our more details at www.thegreatestjourney.org

Our Mission of the Month for JUNE AND JULY:

We joined with at least 10 other churches to donate 1,000 back-packs and necessary school supplies to children in the Butts County elementary schools.  Jean Brown, from Macedonia Baptist, headed up this effort, and she was enthusistic enough to make it happen!  On Saturday, July 17th, all involved churches gathered on the courthouse lawn at 9 a.m. to give out supplies.

PW donated some backpacks toward the goal of 1,000 and we asked the congregation to donate money toward the purchase of at least one necessary item for each backpack.  Any and all monetary donations were used for specified items for the backpacks.

Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center in Jackson was our mission of the month for June but

always welcomes donations of needed items as well as people who will help at the center throughout the year.  Drop by to see their facility sometime.  They are always happy to see visitors.
