Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center ( Jackson )

Our Earn While You Learn mentoring program for young single moms or

young couples is very busy right now! Our clients are rewarded for coming

once a week and meeting with their mentor, watching DVD’s on pregnancy,

parenting, and budgeting, doing our Bible Studies, and attending local

churches. We’ve already had 10 babies born to us… and about 10 more

expectant mommies are in the program now! Here is a list of some of our immediate

needs for our “mommy store”; Baby beds, Baby bed mattresses,

(we have a few beds without mattresses), Baby monitors, Pack n plays, Strollers,

New car seats, High chairs, Toddler bed, Electric breast pump, Boy baby socks,

Baby bottles, New baby bottle nipples, Baby bathtub, Baby carrier (front & back),

diaper wipes, Newborn diapers, Portable cribs, and baby swings.

We also very much need volunteers…..counselors and mentors(we train!!),

office workers, someone to cut the grass and do landscaping, someone to help

organize and run the “mommy” store, etc. I’m sure you have some women

(and we need a few men counselors, also!) that have a real heart for young

people in crisis situations and who would make great mentors…please have

them call us! 770-775-5116. And we always need donors who see the real

need to get down in the trenches and help these young people, to try and set

them on the right path! Please join us! www.lifecholcesprc.org

Missions sponsored by Women of the Church

The WOC have various activities that are ongoing or that are scheduled throughout the year.

The first mission is the 2008 Santa Claus Express.  Each year Presbyterian Women celebrate the

holidays with residents of the health services centers at Presbyterian Home, Quitman and

Presbyterian Village, Austell.  In September, the joyous task of collecting gifts for  residents

begins.  Santa's elves pick up the gifts from depot churches and deliver them to the campuses to be

wrapped for residents.  Santa himself delivers the gifts to the residents at Christmas parties.

Whether carefully selected from a store or made lovingly by hand, these gifts remind residents of the

joys of the holidays.  Throughout the year, gifts are given to honor birthdays and to welcome new

residents, and are treasured prizes for games and therapy sessions.

A list of "Suggested Gift Items" is available at the church.  PLEASE DO NOT WRAP your gifts.  There is a

box at the church where your donations may be placed.  Please have your gifts to the church by the

end of the month as all gifts will be taken to their drop off site on Dec 3.  If you have any questions,

either ask one of the Women of the Church or call the church office during office hours.
