Plant and Seed swap table that sold plants for funds to help send children to summer camp, collection of items for Presbyterian Homes, purchase of backpacks for Butts County's needy children, and other worthwhile missions.

*"Operation Christmas Child"--Our women place items that they think a child or young person might like in shoe boxes plus $6 to be used for literature,The Greatest Journey, which will be given to each child, telling them about Jesus.  You can find our more details at www.thegreatestjourney.org

ONGOING MISSION :

The Christian Emergency Relief Foundation located on East Third Street is a coalition of Butts County Christian Churches that have joined together to minister to residents of Butts County with emergency relief. This relief provides assistance with shelter, food, transportation, utilities, clothing, counseling, and in other ways. JPC is one of 20+ local churches who contribute to this mission. Our donations are needed and appreciated!

Don’t forget to bring one can of food per person each Sunday for CERF!

(Thanks, Denver and Ramona, for delivering them to CERF so they can be distributed to the needy).

Blankets Needed

Ramona Ratcliff has mentioned a need for blankets at CERF. If you have an old but clean and still useful blanket or quilt you would be willing to donate, just put it in the CERF tub by the sanctuary. THANK YOU!

Our Church Mission of the Month for AUGUST, 2011:

We joined with a number of businesses and other churches to donate back-packs and necessary school supplies to children in the Butts County elementary schools.  Jean Brown, from Macedonia Baptist, headed up this effort, and she was enthusistic enough to make it happen!  On Saturday, July 30, all involved gathered at the Butts' County Rec Department at 9 a.m. to give out supplies.

Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center in Jackson has been our mission previously but

always welcomes donations of needed items as well as people who will help at the center throughout the year.  Drop by to see their facility sometime.  They are now located in the same

building as CERF on East Third Street next door to the Methodist Church.  They are always happy to see visitors.
